How Amazon Flex Drivers Are Taxed

Amazon Flex drivers are self-employed contractors. If you earn over £1,000 from Flex in a tax year, you must register for Self Assessment with HMRC. Your taxable profit (income minus allowable expenses) is subject to 20% income tax and 6% Class 4 NI between £12,570 and £50,270. Class 2 NI was abolished from April 2024.
